Here’s why:ĭonate to my Ko-fi here - (absolutely NO pressure though - I know what it’s like when money is tight) Although this “prototype” is complete, I’m not 100% satisfied yet. Along those lines, if I’m going to make something that others will buy and use, I want it to be done right. I initially set out to create something I would be proud of and I feel I succeeded. So, my goal is to eventually sell kits for DIY builds and a small number of complete units. Because of this, I’m very excited that so many of you are interested in owning a Camera M yourself! I want others to experience joy with not only something I’ve created, but with the amazing little Game Boy Camera itself. I’m self-taught and my work career is completely unrelated to these skills. This was a completely personal, selfish project meant to create a solution for improving my skills as a modder and photographer. Models are not yet available.īack in December 2021, when I officially began working on this project (though one can argue its inception began when I first shared my Game Boy Camera photos online in the summer of 2018), it’s little exaggeration that I obsessed over what was to become of the Camera M and its design. I have covered mine in what I have been calling a “lens sleeve.” I love the way it looks, but it’s more than aesthetics: the ridges give it a much better grip for adjusting zoom and focus. As far as lens, I've found a CCTV CS mount 5-50mm varifocal lens that is versatile enough for almost any situation. This model is designed by 2bitboy with some minor alterations for HDR’s camera board switch and printed in MJF black dyed nylon. It's nice and compact and has been a dream to use. The center and right cameras use a completely new custom housing designed specifically for lens mounts called the 2bittoy camera+. The shell is printed in MJF black dyed nylon. The shell is custom designed by Hatch with some model alterations by me: a completely redesigned the front eyeball to hold M12 lenses - the lens attached is a 4mm no distortion lens. What's great about this custom cart is that it no longer uses a battery for saved data and can contain 2 ROMs - the original English Game Boy Camera ROM and untoxa's Photo! custom Game Boy Camera ROMs. Left bottom employs HDR's Game Boy Camera custom flash cart. The model is not available yet, but I hope to make it soon. The shell is printed MJF black dyed nylon. It also has an adjustable lens for focus and macro shots. The upper left is my mini macro camera: it is a redesigned PCB to fit the camera into the size of a normal cart. Every Game Boy Camera performs differently and has its own quirks however, these are some of my favorite performers. Typically, these four are in my bag at all times, although I do own a significant collection of Game Boy Cameras that seem to expand in numbers almost weekly. UPDATED 3/23/23: Since the Game Boy Camera only holds 30 photos per cartridge, I carry multiple carts just in case.
